I'm working on a book about caring for my adult son, James Strazza, who is 100% bed bound with Severe ME/CFS. You can learn more about that book at galenwarden.com, my author site.
I strive to keep balance in my life, so I use this blog to share my poetry and thoughts on other topics.

I enjoy a variety of mediums and styles with my art. With painting, collage or carving in linoleum, my goal is to express emotion that you can feel and relate to.
My nature is the consequence of my father’s over-the-top determination to take risks and achieve personal and professional goals in spite of polio, and my mother’s reckless risk-taking adventures. The result is a risk-taking, adventure seeking, super responsible single parent of six. The adventures are outrageous, the responsibilities crushingly intense, but the results are—I’m counting on this—a happy ending for all.
On introspective days I search back through time for the warmest and most exciting moments, in a rush to experience the golden goodness of them again. I want to celebrate all of that.
Nowadays I care for my bed-bound adult son. He has very severe ME/ CFS. I steal time for freelance, poetry, art, because my soul needs to be fed during this season of personal sacrifice... and less sleep. As soon as his condition begins to improve I'll have time to add much more of my work to this site. I look forward to sharing much more with you.

“Having spent a long career as an advertising executive, I’ve worked with a broad range of creative talent and personalities. Not surprising, the most outstanding is also the most rare. It’s a combination of pure creative imagination plus a practical aptitude along with the spirit and interpersonal skills of a caring partner. I’ve found this rare combination in Galen Warden through several design and web projects we have completed. A talented artist, a practical project manager and a pleasure to work with.”
